Hochsaison - Nossberger Hütte

The summer season of 2020 was unique. As an alternative to the classic beach holidays, many people chose to explore their own country due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. In Austria, this resulted in a surge of interest in mountain huts, such as the "Adolf-Nossberger" refuge in Hohe Tauern National Park.

The image series, titled "Hochsaison" (peak season) is an intimate portrait of a location where multi-day hikers and weekend warriors converge, and where the "storm" rages inside and around the hut rather than outside.
